JANUARY 20TH, 2017 || THE FOUNDER, SPLIT, & xXx: THE RETURN OF XANDER CAGE

 |
THE FOUNDER || Everyone looks on top of their game in this dramatic retelling of how the McDonalds franchise began its rise to being one of the most known restaurants the world over. Michael Keaton plays the not-so-nice guy that tries to talk to brothers into turning their revolutionary new restaurant into a franchise, despite their hard-no’s. He then tries backdoor ways into making them do it. Nick Offerman looks great in his role as one of the brothers and Laura Dern is always enjoyable to watch.

SPLIT || M. Night Shyamalan has seen a resurgence as of late, after his film “The Visit” came off to some good reviews. Now he’s back with another new idea, this one about a young man that kidnaps three girls and ends up showing them his many different personalities, warning them that the worst is yet to come. James McAvoy takes a step away from Professor Xavier and plays the leading creep and apparently does so in expert fashion.

TRESPASS AGAINST US || You put Michael Fassbender and Brendan Gleeson in a dramatic thriller and it’s pretty likely I’ll want to see it. Playing father and son who are apart of a crime outfit in a rural area, Fassbender puts his own family at risk when a job goes bad.

xXx: THE RETURN OF XANDER CAGE || What the world did not need was another xXx movie. But if you’re going to do it, then definitely get Vin Diesel and Ice Cube to come back, which I’m not sure why they gave away that cameo in a TV spot… probably because they knew people would be more likely to go see the movie. And also, get someone like Donnie Yen, fresh off his “Rogue One” appearance, to play the villain.
