|THE BYE BYE MAN || There’s a new boogeyman on the scene and guess what… you can’t say his name without conjuring him. “The Bye Bye Man” is completely derivative of so many other horror genres, but it does look like it delivers at least some spookiness for its trouble.
|MONSTER TRUCKS || A movie about a monster that decides to inject itself into a young man’s truck to face him off against the bullies of his life does not sound like a film for adults nor for children, living in the strange middle ground that many people just will not see. Jane Levy finds herself in this for some reason, but besides her appearance, this PG fare has literally nothing going for it.
|SLEEPLESS || Jamie Foxx and Michelle Monaghan play on different sides of the law, in the cop thriller “Sleepless,” where Foxx plays a corrupt cop that gets his family wrapped up in a dirty game that sees his son kidnapped and a ticking clock where Foxx must deliver, or else. Foxx and Monaghan are decent “gets” for this film but other it feels fairly hollow and uninspired.
